──AT&SF's transport of aircraft fuselages! Two-car flatcar!

●In the 1960s, Boeing, a major aircraft manufacturer, manufactured the fuselages of its 737-100 aircraft at a factory in Wichita, Kansas, and then loaded the fuselages onto flatcars as shown in the photo and transported them to their factory in Renton, Washington using the ATSF.

●Additionally, Burlington Northern and Great Northern used skyboxcars, which were modified flatcars with covers placed over them, to transport parts such as the wings and tails.

●The transportation of aircraft fuselages continues to this day, and that role has been taken over by BNSF locomotives.
