Handcrafted Solid Oak Monitor Riser – Walnut-Stained with Polyurethane Gloss Finish
For sale is a unique, handcrafted solid oak monitor riser. I personally bought the oak board unfinished for £90, then invested an additional £50-£60 into quality finishing materials. After factoring in the time, care, and labour involved, a fair listing price of £150 reflects the actual costs of this piece—anything lower would be mathematically unfair.
This is my first project staining oak to achieve a dark walnut-style tone, finished with multiple coats of Blackfriar’s polyurethane gloss varnish. It has a rich, deep colour that adds a touch of warmth and sophistication to any desk setup. The riser is built with two sturdy black powder-coated stainless steel legs, securely screwed into the underside for a minimalist, industrial look.
Please note: As this is my first project working with these materials, there are minor cosmetic imperfections and blemishes in the finish—nothing that affects the structural integrity or functionality. I’ve shown photos of the riser styled on my own desk to demonstrate how it could look in use, but it is completely unused and in brand-new condition.
