How to maintain the life of knob:
Use a wet cloth and mild soapy water or a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
Don't bend the knob up or down, and don't hang towels or other objects on the knob, because this will damage the gas valve shaft.
