HEREND "Vieux Herend" Statuette (Adult Zoo)
Animal sculptures have been produced since the 1860s. The first animal made was the rooster "Kakash Marton". (A humorous piece called "Letters of Kakash Marton" was even written in a weekly magazine at the time. In fact, the famous novelist Jokai Mohr wrote the humorous piece under this pen name.) Each animal is made with a technique that captures the characteristics of the animal. The original rooster feather pattern is used for the coloring of all the animals. There are 360 kinds of animal figurines.
Ecaille
The scale pattern, which is a stylized peacock feather, is all hand-painted. The size and angle of the scales are delicately adjusted to fit the shape of each different vessel, and the pattern is skillfully placed. The breathtaking beauty is filled with the essence of Herend's skilled craftsmanship.
