Animal sculptures have been produced since the 1860s. The first animal made was the rooster "Kakash Marton". (A humorous piece called "Letters of Kakash Marton" was even written in a weekly magazine at the time. In fact, the famous novelist Jokai Mohr wrote the humorous piece under this pen name.) Each animal is made with a technique that captures the characteristics of the animal. The original rooster feather pattern is used for the coloring of all the animals.
