How Engine Coolant Thermostat Works?
The engine coolant thermostat controls the flow of coolant through the radiator to enable the engine to reach and maintain its normal operating temperature.
A sensor inside the thermostat will cause it to open to allowing coolant to flow to and from the radiator if the engine reaches to a certain temperature, to decrease the temperature, and ensure it be recirculated through the engine.
