UPGRADED SAND MEDIA GRIT SHOT BLAST CABINET METERING FLOW VALVE IMPROVED SUCTION

FOR FOR SEALEY SB973 AND SB974 SHOT BLAST CABINET

There is a video with the photos in this listing explaining what you need to know about the media flow valve so please watch this before asking questions

Also i made a YouTube video of the valve fitted to a cabinet so you can see how it fits https://youtu.be/eWW8r08lv-A

I am sure you are here because you are either sick of the syphon tube system in your sand blasting cabinet or you have heard or seen that a media flow valve (also known as a metering valve and maybe some other names) is a much better system for your media blasting cabinet.

This version typically fits the 220L version cabinet although if you have a door to drain on your cabinet that is horizontal with a minimum of 45mm diameteer this should work on your cabinet. 45mm is the diameter of the nut

But for those who dont know how these work please continue reading

Complete and ready to install(minor assembly required), All you need to do is to drill one hole in the media drain cover using a 1- 1/4" hole saw or 32mm (see photo's in this listing) on your blast cabinet.

Once you have done this just push the metering valve through the hole and screw on the nut on the inside until the threads and the top of the nut are flush this will secure it in place. Then add the suction hose to the Barb fitting on the other end with a 12-14mm ID hose of the metering valve and you are ready to start.

This unit is Extremely heavy duty and has a much higher flow rate when compared to the cheap Chinese cast aluminium ones (see in photo's)its obviously also a lot better than the setup that comes with the cabinet, if you want to see more opinions there are plenty of youtube video's on this.

If you want the 'best of the best' this is it. Once you dial in your metering valve you can enjoy much better performance from your cabinet. I use one of these on my own blasting cabinet and compared to using the syphon tube its at least twice as fast so things take half the time to clean which is always good!

You can find video's on youtube on how to dial in your metering valve to make it work its best for you.

Here are 8 Benefits to having one of these media flow valves

1) Air inlet (bleed) valve is 1/2" and is chrome plated Adjustable with a screwdriver.  once you set the air inlet it wont move unless you adjust it.

2) Comes with a drain plug at the bottom NOT a cheap plastic plug which suffers from stripped threads after a few removals and reinstalls due to the abrasive media getting into the threads. This Makes media removal easier, instead of a door you have a smaller tube so it can flow out at a nice steady pace ideal for sifting out debris in the media unlike just opening the door as originally used.

3) Greater metering valve chamber volume with 1" fittings reduced to 1/2" for the air intake and suction hose. This will give the media a higher velocity which creates much greater turbulence that increases the mixing of the air and the blast media to give a steady delivery of the media and a faster flow.

4)  Typically needs less media in the cabinet to perform well compared to the original syphon method. I personally use a 1 litre jug full and that is all i need which is probably around 1KG

5) Self refilling as you use the media it will fall to the bottom of the cabinet to be reused similar to the original only better!

6) Heavy Duty virtually indestructible! better than the cast aluminium ones which can break by just dropping them!

7) Affordable price.

8) Looks cool!
