Four volumes bound in two books dating from 1897. Both books have heavy shelf wear to covers, which have grazes, scuff marks, superficial scratches, damaged and grazed leather binding to spine and corners. Book one has some paint markings to spine and back cover, see photos. Book 2 has spine becoming detached from text block, see photo. Book 2 spine remains attached at the middle , although attachment is somewhat fragile.

Both text blocks are in relatively good condition. First two pages of book one have become detached, remaining pages throughout both volumes are attached and with mostly sound hinges. Pages have heavy age tanning, particularly to page edges, otherwise pages are in good condition throughout. Both volumes are illustrated with black-and-white line drawings throughout and have placeholder ribbons still attached. Overall condition is very good.
