Annan-ware is pottery that was imported from Vietnam (Annan) to Japan from the late Muromachi period to the Edo period (16th to 17th century). It is characterized by the soft milky-white glaze with crackle and slightly blurred patterns. The designs include various types such as fish and plants, but the most representative motifs are dragonflies and shrimp.
