1968 Press Photo Lieutenant Colonel Norris' Family Rejoice Return From Vietnam

This is an original press photo. Lieutenant Colonel Norris Overly, 38, shot down over Vietnam, September 11, flew 10,000 miles form a North Vietnam prison camp to a tearful reunion with his wife and two children at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Fairborn, Ohio, Sunday. Daughter Debbie, 11, wipes a tear, momma Ruth is overjoyed and son Mike, who made 10 years old Sunday, can't seem to believe it has come true. The officer will be examined for several days at the base hospital and then will be off to his home in Detroit, Michigan, to be with his family for the first time since last August.Photo measures 8 x 9.25inches. Photo is dated 02-19-1968.
