Antique French Large Oil on Canvas Painting Elegant Woman Portrait Framed 19th C


Description : 

 
High-quality portrait of a middle-aged woman wearing an extremely fine white lace mantilla. It is held in place by a pearl-stitched headband. A pearl necklace with a diamond in the center indicates her rather high social status as a bourgeois. The portrait is signed and dated 1822.  Restoration period frame in good overall condition.

The oil on canvas painting has undergone some minor restorations over its two-hundred-year lifespan: the three small patches on the back attest to this.

Its overall condition is good to very good.
