1953 Press Photo 93 foot brigantine, Yankee, at Gloucester, Massachusetts

This is an original press photo. Off on a 40,000 mile cruise around the world, the 93 foot brigantine Yankee left the port at Gloucester, Massachusetts. The steel hulled former German pilot boat is on its third world cruise. Irving Johnson, the owner; his wife, their two sons and 19 young people are making the trip. They expect to return May 1, 1955. Photo measures 8.75 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 11-02-1953.
