Characteristic work by the Eindhoven-based artist. Karlgeorg Hoefer(Hochschule fur Kunst und Gestaltung, Offenbach am Main, Dld) and through international internships and workshops in Germany, U.K. (a.o. with Donald Jackson, personal calligrapher of Queen Elisabeth II) and the U. S.A. He studied ancient manuscripts and early-medieval painting and writing techniques in the library of the University of Heidelberg, among others, and in the library and so-called ''Secret Archives'' of the Vatican in Rome.His work is included in many collections and is regularly exhibited at home and abroad, including in ''The Visual and Performing Arts Gallery / University of Texas'' Houston; ''Lyman Allyn Art Museum, New London, Connecticut; 'Center for Book Arts' in New York, the Frankfurt Book Fair, Rijksmuseum voor het Boek in The Hague, etc. ''In his free work, word and image often lead to a surprising synergy'' ( Art, Poetry & Design Eindhoven).
