Item Code: SKU-045
Zeiss AxioVert 40 CFL
Phase Contrast
Fluorescence
Inverted Tissue Culture
Microscope
Details And Specifications:
- Inverted design. Useful for petri dishes and cell culture vessels.
- Clinical Grade and size frame. This is smaller than the research grade Axiovert 200 model.
- Binocular head with front photography port. Camera and camera adapter are NOT included and sold separately.
- Eyepieces: Pl 10x/18. Both ocular eyepieces have diopter adjustments.
- 0.4 Numerical Aperture Condenser.
- This condenser has the ability to slide back out of the path of the specimen vessel on the stage. In addition, if you have a very large specimen vessel, this style of microscope will accommodate it. You simply push the condenser all the way back out of the way and can still get a decent image.
- This frame has DIC openings in the nosepiece. Contact us if you would like to have Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) included.
- 6V-25W Halogen transmitted illumination.
- Voltage: This microscope and fluorescence power supply is can be used on either 110 V or 220 V for worldwide usage.
- This microscope is in great condition and gives good imaging.
Objectives:
- 5x. A-Plan 5x / 0.12. ∞/-. Ph0. Phase Contrast. This works with both 0.17mm and petri dish thickness.
- 10x. A-Plan 10x / 0.25, ∞/-. Ph1. Phase Contrast. This works with both 0.17mm and petri dish thickness.
- 20x. Plan-Neofluar 20x / 0.50, ∞/0.17. Spring. (non-phase). This objective should only be used with a 0.17mm cover slip thickness.
- 40x. LD Achroplan 40x / 0.60, Korr, ∞/0-2 mm. Correction collar. (not phase). This correction collar can be adjusted to image through standard 0.17mm cover slip thickness, all the way up to a 2mm thick petri dish.
- All objectives can image fluorescence. The 20x will be best.
- Contact us if you would like to have different objectives or any other configuration.
- Five place objective nosepiece.
Fluorescence Imaging:
- FITC dichroic filter cube. The tray slider has three positions. The middle position is for brightfield and phase contrast. One position has an FITC filter cube and the other position could have another fluorescence filter cube inserted.
- Contact us if you would like to have additional fluorescence dichroic filter cubes. We carry many in stock.
- HBO 50 fluorescence illumination system. Includes mbq50 power supply, lamp housing, and bulb.
Phase Contrast Microscopy:
- Phase contrast slider with three spaces. One has an ND neutral density filter, another has a PH0 phase annuli, and another has a PH1 phase annuli.
- Contact us if you would like to have a PH2 annuli.
Photography Port:
- This frame includes a front photography port. The photographs show a c-mount with camera.
- However, this camera and c-mount camera attachment are not included. They are only shown to demonstrate how they could be connected. This unit will ship with a plastic cap and/or tape over the front port. If you would like to connect camera equipment, please let us know and we can discuss these optional accessories.
- The illumination can be set to 100 percent to eyepieces or 100 percent to camera port.
Optional Accessories:
- We have XY stage movements, but sold separately. For this simple clinical-grade microscopes, most users move the specimen by hand on top of the stage. Contact us if you need an XY movement system.
- We have a wide variety of optional scientific cameras, both monochrome and color, with and without Peltier cooling.
- Other objectives may be added.
- We can add a VAR Varel variable relief contrast system to this unit.
- We are a Chroma dealer. Brand new Chroma hard coated filter cubes with lifetime warranty may be added. Contact us if this option is needed.
Market Value:
- In addition, we are including a one year warranty, money back guarantee, and free USA shipping that are value added additions not given by most resellers and should be considered when comparing.
Setup Support and Training:
- We assist our customers via live video with instructions and training to get them up and going quickly. We train you as needed to set up and operate this equipment. This is after-sales support and is at no charge.
User Manual and Instructions:
- Upon purchase, we will email links to the user manuals / instructions.

Terms and Conditions
Objective Lenses - Condition:
All objectives have been professionally cleaned.
All are guaranteed to be free from optical defects. If any defect is found, it will be clearly noted in the ad.
Our inspection of the objective lenses includes checking for the following:
lens cracking, pitting, lens cement not intact, internal oil damage or oil seepage, glass fogging, glass hazing, stains on optical glass, mold or mildew stains, and delamination (separation of internal lenses).
Condition of Equipment:
This reconditioned microscope is complete and in excellent working order and has been completely checked out and serviced.
Technical Sales and Support:
Most offerings of used microscopes are by simple flippers of equipment who have obtained defective and rejected microscopes from labs discarding the equipment. They resell exactly what they got, as they got it, and without any technical knowledge of it. You can rest assured when purchasing from us that we are professional dealers who are well trained to service and provide technical support of the microscopy equipment. We test, repair and refurbish all equipment to excellent working conditions. We are well trained and able to give you technical advice including pre-sale and post-sale support.
Microscope Training – Setup Support:
Concerned about how to set up and operate this equipment? Need training? We can help. Contact us for more details.
Free Application Evaluation and Recommendation:
We strongly encourage all potential buyers to first contact us with regards to their specific application. In most situations, we need to customize certain features of the microscope in order to best fit the end user’s technical requirements. We want to ensure you have the correct and optimal configuration for your application.
Fluorescence Filter Sets - Customized:
We are dealers of both Chroma and Omega brands (Made in USA) of dichroic filters. Please contact us regarding the specific fluorophores you are using so we can be sure the filter sets provided are a proper match. Incorrect matching will give you poor quality or no visible fluorescing.
Customs Duty and Tax:
Any and all customs brokerage, customs entry, VAT and duty/tax are the responsibility of the buyer.
Voltage Requirement:
Our equipment may show 110V and/or 220V external power supplies. Some power supplies are not Volt selectable. Depending on your country of final destination, and the Voltage supply, we may need to change the power supply shown in the ad to one that matches your power requirements. Contact us first with your Voltage requirement so we can be certain we have the required power supply if it needs to be changed from what is shown in the ad.
