Attractive small antique book stack of four books with gilt title to the spine and bound in soft textured burgundy leather boards. Both books have illustrations. These are undated but likely 1920s. Lovely to read and for decoration or a bibliophile gift. They are about 5 inches high.
They are in very good condition for their age. The binding is tight, all hinges are secure and there are no loose or missing pages. Occasional marking and cracking or neat ink inscription dated 1925.
The Memoirs of a Physician
The Countess Dubarry
Taking the Bastille
The Vicomte de Bragelonne, cracked between front board and text block. All secure.
The boards are very good. The gilt title on the spine remains strong. The corners are sharp, the spine ends are slightly rubbed. Minor scuffing to corners and joints.
The interior of the page block is clean. The gilt to the top edge is a little dulled.
All in all a pretty set. There are more listed all the time.
