Handpainted Klimax Foreign Japanese Eggshell Lustreware. Small, delicate teacups with a peach and white peony design. Circa 1950s.
Very small and dainty tea set, 5 cups and 5 saucers, a teapot, creamer and lidded sugar bowl. 13 pieces total. The teacups and saucers are very fragile but the teapot, sugar bowl and creamer are more sturdier and thicker.
In good vintage condition but there is some discolouration and spots on some of the pieces. The glaze is slightly worn on the rims of the cups, which are slightly brittle in texture. There is 1 tiny chip on the rim if 3 cups and 1 tiny chip on the rime of a saucer, all as shown in the photos. Overall considering the age and the eggshell material of the cups and saucers, they are in good condition and a very attractive set.
