Description

VINTAGE ZINC WATERING CAN

Wonderful sturdy 1940s primitive zinc round watering can measuring about 17-1/2" tall to the handle top, 13" to the dome top, 18-1/2" from the spout tip to the handle back and 9" wide. Featuring a canted spout with unusual dual wire twist bracket support as shown, it has a sturdy curved carrying handle and applied side handle, both with dog ear bracket mounts.  Bearing the number "2" on the half dome top, sides are straight, bottom is rolled, so it does not sit completely flat.

Condition is exactly what you want to see from a utilitarian piece - denting, scuffing, discoloration, a tiny hole on the side which bears an early solder repair, a rolled base, and tons of usage marks.  Think it is awesome - has been displayed on an iron garden table with a variety of antique garden flower frogs, planters, antique tools and similar for years.  Fun  addition to any primitive/architectural item collection.
