Japanese Cat Print, depicting playful, cute cats spelling "Catfish" in Japanese calligraphy. This is a cutout of an illustration from the book "The Book of the Cat." No, I did not cut up a brand-new book to sell prints; the book was falling apart and I salvaged a few pictures from it, and decided to sell a few of them. Artist named Utagawa Kuniyoshi; print titled “Cats forming the characters for catfish.” Made ca. 1842 (this is a repro, of course).
Not framed (suitable for framing); portrait orientation, color. Approximately 4 by 3 inches.
Excellent condition, but the edge is a bit rough and inexact, since it was cut out.
If you don't mind me sending this in an ordinary envelope with a little padding, I can ship with a stamp and refund the postage; for the full postage price, I will ship it packed in a box. I no longer offer local delivery (I had a bad experience with an arrogant purchaser), but you can stop by if you're local.
