The U328-025 features a bus-powered signal booster (no external power source required) in the middle of the cable that extends the range of the USB signal, allowing you to overcome the typical 16-foot limitation. This allows USB peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners and card readers, to be located up to 25 feet from the host computer with no loss in signal quality. The U328-025 also provides 250mA of power to a connected device. If a device requires more than 250mA of power, it will either need to have its own power supply or be plugged into a powered USB 3.0 hub (Tripp Lite model U360-004-R, sold separately).
