Founded by Lewis Davenport in 1898, and had been in the same family until their closing in 2020, making them the oldest continuously owned magic shop in the world ... they even held the Guinness World Record for this!

They have occupied various locations in their long history, and were last found in the Charing Cross Underground arcade. Their central London location was close to Trafalgar Square, Charing Cross, Embankment, Leicester Square etc.

Volume 1:

The Complete Walton Volume 1 is a classic book on card magic, long out of print and overlooked by many. We felt it was time to reintroduce to the magic world once again, this fantastic source of innovative, well thought out and extremely fooling card magic. Those that missed the opportunity previously to add this volume to their collection will be delighted to once again be able to lay their hands on this material. Classic Walton effects such as 'Oil and Queens' and 'The Smiling Mule' can be found within, along with Roy's personal handlings of particular sleights such as The Classic Pass, The Half Pass, The Turnover Pass, The Top Card Cover Pass, The Second Deal, The Bottom Deal and many other useful techniques. Roy Walton's 'Paintbrush Change' is a very visual colour change which would be a welcome addition to anyone's repertoire. The section on sleights means that those not familiar with a particular technique can learn the required move and then continue with learning the rest of the routine without having to consult other sources of information.

Volume 2:

This volume follows the highly acclaimed first volume and comprises over 100 original sleights and effects. Davenports have ensured that Volume Two is a perfect match to Volume One and completes some of the best card effects from a prodigious innovator. This volume has been superbly and comprehensively illustrated by Gordon Bruce one of Britain's most accomplished card conjurors. This work is directed towards the dedicated card magician with a knowledge of sleights and handling. Hard back 5-1/2 x 8-3/4 inches, fully illustrated.

Volume 3:

This volume contains 96 carefully selected effects with cards; some previously unpublished, and some from a diverse range of publications such as: Abracadabra, Epilogue, Genii, Hierophant, Ibidem, Kabbala, Magic, Magic Circular, Octet, Pabular, Pallbearer's Review, Spread Half Pass, Spellbinder, Chronicles, The Crimp and Penumbra. Included in 'The Complete Walton Volume 3' are the original descriptions for Roy Walton's famous effects 'Cardwarp' and 'Cascade'.

The format of the book is designed to compliment the 2012 re-releases of Volumes 1 and 2, and is printed on responsibly sourced paper by artisan printers in London. Illustrated by Thomas Cameron. Hard backed, 257 pages.
