Nkui spice is used to prepare a traditional Cameroonian dish called Nkui.

This dish is regularly cooked at the birth of a child and served to the mother and certain members of the family.

Nkui is a sticky sauce prepared from the bark of a plant called Triumfetta pentandra and seasoned with several spices which gives it a unique taste.

Served with hot corn couscous, nkui is eaten only by hand.
