The publication describes the course of the military battle of Khotyn in 1621, its impact on Europe at the time, and presents the military, political, and historical traditions of all participants in those events — Ukrainian Cossacks, Lithuanian, Polish, Ottoman, and Tatar soldiers. At the same time, it highlights the interpretation of the significant battle by its contemporaries.
A key feature of this publication is the publication of images of unique artifacts from the collections of leading Ukrainian museums and archives, as well as documents and graphics from similar institutions in Sweden, Poland, and Turkey. In addition, the book publishes for the first time the works of leading reenactors of Cossack clothing and weapons of the early 17th century.
