The Austin mini Metro was introduced in October 1980 and was initially only on sale in the UK market, export sales to the European market following in early 1981. 998cc and 1275cc engines are fitted, with low compression and economy versions available. Later editions to the Metro range included a luxurious Vanden Plas version, sporty MG and MG Turbo versions, and 1.0 and 1.3 Vans. The range from 1985 included 5-door versions.
The aim of this manual is to help you determine what work needs to be done on your vehicle and provides the logical course of action and diagnosis to tackle this work. The manual is divided into 12 chapters, each covering a logical sub-division of the vehicle.
Contents include: Engine, Cooling system, Fuel and exhaust systems, Ignition system, Clutch, Manual gearbox and final drive, Driveshafts, Braking system, Electrical system, Suspension and steering, Bodywork and fittings.
This manual, published in 1992, is in very good overall condition considering its age with no significant wear and only minor handling marks (see photographs). Internally the book remains clean (see photographs) The manual runs to 266 pages (27cm x 20cm). Please see all photographs for a true and fair representation of the quality.
