Listed here today for your viewing and purchase is this 1893 chromolithograph by famed artist Paul DeLongpre entitled, Our Feathered Pets, featuring 12 birds sitting on a latticework fence.
The print retains very nice coloring and is housed inside an antique green fraqm with contrasting trim and beadwork.
The print appears in exceptional condition, especially considering its advance age of over 130 years!
I note two very small spots, one located below and to the right of the left bluebird and the other above the second bird, close to the mat, above.
In addition, upon close inspection I note a small tear that is virtually camouflaged on or slightly above that same bluebird.
The overall measures are approximately 8 x 23.75 inches. The viewable area of the print measures approximately 11.5 x 27.5 inches.
This image is featured in Book III by Keagy & Rhoden, "Yard-Long Prints," page 19.
The backing is its original old cardboard and in one picture I am separating the cardboard a little so you can peek inside to see the old print behind the cardboard. It is definitely old and original!
This image is a harder to find Paul DeLongpre print. Occasionally one or two will surface, then you might not see another for years.
This print is guaranteed to be old and original! If you are a bird lover, this is a must have for your home as it is a true treasure to own!
