A: "No, the Keyless Entry Keypad allows you to conveniently lock and unlock your vehicle using a five-digit PIN instead of the key or key fob. You can go about your day or evening without having to carry a bulky key or key fob in your pocket or purse."

Q: "Is there a pre-programmed code I need to use to lock and unlock my vehicle via the Keyless Entry Keypad, or can I use a custom five-digit code?"

A: You can use the pre-programmed code or create a custom programmable five-digit code to lock and unlock your vehicle via the Keyless Entry Keypad.

Q: Can I install this Keyless Entry Keypad myself?

A: This Keyless Entry Keypad requires installation and calibration by an authorized GM Dealer (extra cost; see dealer for details).

Q: How do I create my personal five-digit code?

A: "Enter the factory set code, as indicated on your wallet card. Within five seconds of entering the factory set code, press and hold the 1/2 button for one second, the 9/0 button will flash twice quickly to confirm the keypad is in programming mode. Within five seconds, enter your desired personal five-digit code. Each digit must be entered within five seconds of the previous digit. If it times out, the code will not be entered. The vehicle doors will unlock-lock-unlock to confirm that your personal code has been programmed to the keypad, and the 9/0 button will flash twice to confirm that the keypad has exited programming mode. Please note: Do not set a personal code that uses five of the same number. Do not set a personal code that uses five numbers in sequential order. There is a maximum of two access codes; the factory set code and one personal code. If you reprogram the personal code, the prior personal code will be erased."

Q: "How do I use the unlock/lock functionality for the driver’s door, all doors and trunk or liftgate (if equipped)?"

A: "To unlock the driver’s door, enter your personal five-digit code or the factory set code. Each digit must be pressed within five seconds of each other. To unlock all doors, press 3/4 button within five seconds of entering a valid keypad code. To lock all doors, press the 7/8 and the 9/0 buttons simultaneously at any time – you do not have to enter a valid five-digit code. To unlock the trunk or hatch, if equipped, press the 5/6 button within five seconds of entering a valid five-digit code. (Integrated Key Fob Transmitter vehicles may require the 5/6 button to be pressed twice). To open the liftgate or actuate a power liftgate, press the 7/8 button twice within two seconds of entering a valid five-digit code. To stop the power liftgate, press the 7/8 button once within ten seconds. To reverse the power liftgate, press the 7/8 button twice within two seconds of entering a valid five-digit code or while the keypad is still awake."

Q: What do I do if I can’t remember my five-digit code?

A: The included wallet card contains a five-digit master code that will unlock the vehicle in the event you should forget your personal five-digit code.

Q: Can I have multiple five-digit codes for different users?

A: No. The Keyless Entry Keypad allows you to create a five-digit code for only one user.

Q: What is anti-scan mode technology and how does it work?

A: "Anti-scan mode technology provides added security and protection by locking out the keypad for one minute after 16 incorrect entries. Lockout will be indicated by a flashing orange LED light from the keypad. If a second attempt is made with 16 more incorrect entries, the lockout will last for two minutes. A third attempt will lock out for three minutes and a fourth for 23 minutes. When a correct code is entered, the lockout time will reset to one minute."

Q: How long will my Keyless Entry Keypad battery last and how do I replace it?

A: "The Keyless Entry Keypad battery has been tested to last up to six years. A low power warning will let you know when it’s time to replace the keypad (if you unlock the door, the locks cycle one additional time)."
