This 1944 Netherlands Indies/Japanese Occupation WWII banknote is a notable numismatic item that holds historical significance. The front of the note has a dark brown on a light tan underprint with the plate letter S prefix and Javanese dancer at left. The Japanese lettering in the bottom middle means Imperial Government of Japan and the Ten Roepiah. On the reverse the note has a purple tone, and you have the Stupas and statues of Buddha from Borobudur Temple. In 1942, the Japanese successfully invaded the Indies. The note was printed by Imperial Printing Bureau of Japan, Japan. It is classified as a Banknote and has a Grade of 63 Choice Uncirculated.
