For sale is a nifty antique lunch pail...this top-of-the line model has brass fittings and a name plate...in very good condition. From a local estate...see our eBay seller's list for more fresh finds. The gray-metal container measures about 11-1/4" by 8" by 9". The porcelain finial adds more height and at the handle it's about 10-1/2" tall. A brass diamond-shaped ornament decorates the handle. The plates that attach the handle to the box are also brass as is the closure at the front and a fancy name plate on top. The owner was one C.C. Mason whose name appears in Victorian script. The inside has a built in water reservoir with a screw-on cap. The lid is removeable...a pin at the back and the hasp in front hold it in place. We wonder the nature of Mason's occupation as we live in an area where mining and railroads employed many. See all the photos for the form, details, brass work and condition which is very good as noted. No cracks or breaks. No dents or dings. Age-appropriate wear throughout. A trace of oxidization on the underside only. Considering its age (circa 1900 give or take) it's in remarkably lovely, clean shape. Check our feedbacks and buy with confidence!
