Up for consideration is a very Sculptural carved alabaster Iatalian Eagle with glowing moon shade. Shade diameter is 8 inches with overall height being around 20 inches...It sports it's original 2 part shade of which many of these lamps are missing the upper half. The lamp is well made and has an eagle looking to it's right. A very nice pose with colored and or variegated body with deep feather figural carving on all sides. This supports the notion that this lamp could sit on a very NeoClassical desk or simply used as a work of art on a center table...as there is no weak angle for this beautiful piece...it was designed to be shown off from front back or either side. No chips cracks or visible repairs...please note this will need to be partially disassembled for safe shipping...In summary this really is great piece for a library study area or just about anywhere you decide...there is vent hole at the top of the shade to allow for heat to escape from the shade...special these type of lamps where designed and used during the old Radio days where people relaxed (chilled out) around the living room or den and listened to Radio programs...which is sooooo far from understanding from our modern times that younger generations are puzzled by such a notion...that is if you can get them to put their phones down to even make contact for a brief uninterrupted moment ...anyway my point being is that it is recommended to use a low wattage bulb perhaps 7.5 watt or 5 watt for fun to see the coloration as it was more a ambient lighting lamp or low light for comfort...in a dark stress free cozy environment with the fire crackling away...partial separation is necessary for safety reasons..If you have any questions or something to share please message me...buyer pays shipping. Thanks and be safe out there...
