The TANNOY AMERICAN LANCASTER MONITOR HPD385 is a vintage speaker system manufactured by the long-established British speaker manufacturer, TANNOY, from the 1950s to the 1960s. 

• Dimensions: H735xW650xD580mm. Although not measured, the weight is estimated to be around 40kg.
  
  
• The unit operation is exceptionally good. It has the original cone paper and is not reconed. Sun damage is also kept to a minimum. The urethane edge was replaced about 2 years ago at a long-established specialty store and can be used without problems. Considering the years since its release, this current state can be said to be "excellent." It is an early type Alnico 8-hole type among HPDs. The network is also original.
  
  
• The enclosure is the "AMERICAN LANCASTER" designed/manufactured by Japan's proud enclosure manufacturer "Utopia." It is a bass-reflex type characterized by a large front horn reminiscent of Westminster, and has a structure similar to ALTEC's A5 and A7. While British TANNOY's original enclosures use 12-18mm thick plywood for most products, this uses a thicker 21mm, making it very sturdy.
  
  
• The exterior is generally clean, but some dents and scratches are visible. Also, several unnecessary wood screw holes have been drilled on the back. It seems that the previous owner made them, but they are left as they are. It is the hole of the back, so I think that it does not mind.
  
  
• I listen to classical music mainly, but I also listen to jazz to some extent. This set is highly recommended for those who like fusion music. Casiopea in the 1980s that you listen to with this is the best.
  
  
• Although I have used it carefully so far, about 50 years have passed for the unit and more than 30 years have passed for the enclosure. Although it is working well, please fully understand that it is an old thing.
