Old Imari blue and white ceramic plate with a map made in the Tenpo era
Made during the Tenpo era "Thinly made for souvenirs"

It appears to have been modeled after the style of the "Gyokizu," which is said to have been created by the Nara period monk Gyoki.
"Souvenir, thin" A very valuable piece historically.
It was so popular at the time that it was still widely produced in Arita even during the Meiji period.
These were baked during the Tenpo era of the Edo period as souvenirs, thin (thick ones were avoided due to their weight) and in a size that was easy to carry around, but it seems that many of them no longer remain.
The back surface still retains the "grain marks" from when it was made.
The three round "time" marks remain, making this a very valuable piece from a historical perspective.
