WAS AS A DYE PLANT: THE ROOTS PRODUCE BEAUTIFUL RICH RED DYE
Hardy perennial, flowers year after year
FLOWERING:
FROM THE MIDDLE OF EACH ROSETTE PLANTS DEVELOP MULTIPLE FLOWERING STEMS, 50-70 CM TALL THAT ARE
TOPPED WITH CLUSTERS OF THE ELEGANT TRUE BLUE FLOWERS.
FLOWERING STARTS EARLY IN SPRING AND YOUR PLANT WILL FLOWER ALL SUMMER THROUGH IF YOU DO AS BELLOW:
CUT THE PLANT AFTER EACH FLOWERING RIGHT BACK TO THE GROUND - ALL FLOWER STEMS AND LEAVES, LEAVING VERY YOUNG "BABY"-LEAVES ONLY AND IT WILL RE-GROW VERY BUSHY AND FLOWER
AGAIN IN A FEW WEEKS.
REMOVE LARGEST BASE LEAVES EVRY 2-3 WEEKS SO YOUR PLANT CAN DEVELP OFF-SETS AND GROW VERY BUSHY, WITH MULTIPLE FLOWER STEMS.
USE:
Patio pots, borders, bog garden, pond edges, ground cover for shady locations and "dark corners" of your garden.
Plants will be freshly taken out from the garden on the day of posting and can be planted directly in a garden or container.
GROWING:
Very easy to grow and spreads very easily.
From the roots are developing new stems ALL SPRING AND SUMMER THROUGH.
This way plants will become very bushy and spread.
Height: 60-80 cm
Position: Shade or semi-shade FOR FASTER GROWING but mature plants can be grown in a sunny position.
Soil: ordinary garden soil or clay.
Very tolerant to any weather condition.
Fully hardy.
When young, leaves look very similar to Foxglove leaves.
CUT BACK FOR MORE BLOOMS DURING SUMMER AND THEN IN AUTUMN READY FOR WINTER.
