This has such a fascinating MCM aesthetic. It dates to 1987 but it looks like it came from several decades earlier than that. Something deliciously retro in the styling. Signed in initials by the artist. This seems to be a rare medium, not often practice, as image search doesn't seem to find similar things. It's a high impasto but I don't think it's oil paint or any mixture of paint media. I'm wondering if it could be polysculpt or something like that. Maybe painted polysculpt relief? Attractively framed. Not behind glass or perspex but recessed and appears to have been well protected from the usual issues with age. Just a really fun piece for those who really love the styles of yesteryear. This measures approximately 19.5 inches by about 15.5 in (frame). I'm not sure what the initials say, but at first I thought it was HRC and I was like "Hillary???" Now I lean towards it being NRC...maybe? (1BBr)
