Monograph on the work of Johann Gregorius Höroldt 

(1696 in Jena - 1775), 

who as a porcelain painter had more influence than anyone else on the 

European porcelain and faience manufactories of the 18th century. 

His development of a specific Chinoiserie painting, the naturalistic 

depiction of landscapes, animals, flowers, marine and battle scenes 

made him famous far beyond the borders of Germany. During his 

time as director of the Meissen porcelain manufactory 

(1731-1765) the house reached a high point.
