This is a rag rug for a sunken kotatsu that is in good condition and has been well used.
Both sides are beautifully patchworked, in good condition, and highly functional.
Even though rags for kotatsu are taken out of the storehouse, many of them are in tatters and not suitable for practical use, so I think this is in very good condition. There are no major tears and it has been well repaired.

The centre is hollow, but it is quite heavy at 3.6kg, so I think there is a lot of overlapping of the fabric.
The stitches are also finely sewn at about 2cm width, so they are easy to handle and don't get tangled.
It's about the same thickness all over.

Since it remains in the form of a rug,
I would be happy if this could be passed down to future generations. It's hard to find boro rugs these days, so I think this is a wonderful item.

Since it is made of rags and old cloth, it has a sense of its age, with scratches, fading, stains, and other marks.
