This is a Shonai small tansu (cabinet), crafted during the Meiji to Taisho periods. It originates from Shonai, a renowned production area for tansu, and is a masterpiece with high-quality metal fittings.
The interior uses paulownia wood, a material that has long been favored as a premium wood in Japan. Paulownia wood is known for its excellent humidity control, ensuring your valuable items are safely stored. It's perfect not only for storage in your home's living room or bedroom but also for creating a sophisticated atmosphere in your specialty store.
A key is included. While we will adjust it for smooth operation before shipping, please note that it is an old item and may not withstand long-term use. Among the items we handle, there are rare cases where drawers, doors, or knobs have a mechanism that locks when moved. To prevent accidental lock-ins, please store the key separately from the drawers or doors of the item.
Currently, it takes about 3 weeks from the time of order to complete the repair.
Therefore, for orders received before a long holiday, please expect that it may take about a month to complete the repair.
