If you own a Drake SPR-4 receiver, you know that it is a great classic receiver dating from 1968 to 1979 and was Drake's first fully solid state general coverage receiver.  Its capabilities are legendary and collectors of vintage equipment relish the SPR-4 as a very sensitive receiver.  The RL Drake Company did not offer a lot of accessories with the SPR-4, but did make calibrator and noise blanker modules available to enhance listening.  In addition, they sold extra crystals to expand the bands available for the user to tune into more frequencies than the factory supplied crystals.

This sale is for one crystal which covers 16.5 MHz with reception running from 16.5 to 17 MHz.  In the SPR-4 receiver, each 500 KHz span of receiving coverage is also extended by a minimum of an additional 50 KHz of travel each direction at the ends of the VFO tuning span.  Thus, this crystal will actually cover from 16.450 to 17.050 MHz.  If you desire additional receiving frequencies, we have a listing that allows you to choose from available frequencies and you may review them here:

Please note that these crystals will NOT work in other RL Drake receivers....only the SPR-4.  Please refrain from inquiring as these crystals cannot be utilized on other receivers such as the R4 series and we do not have such crystals to offer for sale. 

The crystals are easy to install in the crystal board of the SPR-4.  Basically you remove 6 screws holding the top cover in place and then determine which place on the crystal board you want to place the crystal (there are 23 possible positions).  After plugging it into your desired socket position, you replace the top cover and....voila.
