Coarse whetstones (120 180) use coarse powder. If the medium whetstone (1000 1500 2000) has a large uneven surface use rough powder to grind and recorrect it using medium grain powder. Typically only medium powder is used. If the grindstone (5000 12000) has a large uneven surface use medium grain powder to sharpen and recorrect it using fine powder. Typically only fine powder is used. When using the powder type please clean the corrector and whetstone with water before using.
