This piece of earthenware, VERY RARE pot is either a confit or olive jar. Dating back to the EARLY 19th century. Traditionally used for food storage, particulary for preserving meat (usually duck because of their fat). Through a process called Confit. Originated in the south of France in the Gascony region. Also used for storing olives. 
    Made of earthenwarewith a yellow or ochre-colored glaze. Confit pots from regions like southwestern France, Spain & Italy. 
    Age based on the style of craftmanship likely dates to the 1800's. Handles are typical for this type of earthenware. Value $200 to 250.
    In very good condition for being over 100 Years Old Used a lot. No Cracks, repairs or crazing. There is an area (Photo) at the left of one of the handles measuring 2/8th" long 1/8th" high. A small rough area at the top of both handles, like the glaze is worn off. Other than this there are no cracks, crazing or chips or repairs. A super piece!!!
     I've discounted it because of the conditions I've mentioned. I'VE REDUCED ONE MORE TIME THE LAST TIME BEFORE I WITHDRAW IT AND PUT IT IN THE STORE.
