A fine Riviere-style binding of Reynard the Fox, popularized in the Middle Ages, with illustrations by Walter Crane.  An inscription "from the author" to the front end-paper (likely by F.S. Ellis, based on a close inspection and comparison of the handwriting).  A lovely copy with some light rubbing to the leather along the spine edges.  F.S. Ellis (Frederick Startridge Ellis) was known for publishing classic works of William Morris / Kelmscott Press, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and even John Ruskin.
