4 1/4 inch tall cylinder-shaped light TURQUOISE AQUA MARINE colored antique OPIUM ELIXIR patent medicine bottle.  This is a SUPER RARE variation of the more common Dr. McMunn's Elixir of Opium bottles.  What is key to this bottle is that it was put out by a competitor to McMunn who tried to duplicate his products packaging; the shape of bottle, embossing on bottle, name of product, even the  way the label was pasted on the bottle, all exactly like the McMunn bottles--yet with the main parts of its ORIGINAL PAPER LABEL still plastered on it, and with this, quite probably making this a UNIQUE ONE-of-a-KIND bottle as these are quite rare to find even without labelThis is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating back to the mid to late 19th century, 1800s.

As the title says, this bottle is the POSTER CHILD of antique PATENT MEDICINE bottles, as very few antique bottles actually have a narcotic ingredient embossed on it as this one does. And this one is an ANCIENT EXAMPLE with the open pontil on base, dating it from BEFORE THE CIVIL WAR!  A choice example of an original opium laced patent medicine bottle, check it out!
