This handmade paper sensu fan has a bold, navy colored background across the leaf that ends in what appears to be a paint smear.  In the center in white is the Japanese kanji for "samurai".  It has natural colored sticks with the end ones stained a darker brown.  Bought this in Japan in 2005.  Never used, but displayed for a while.  Measures 16" wide when open.
