Individual copper-wound bass strings from a 1900-1910 Strohber Piano Co. upright piano.

The strings are numbered in ascending order from the lowest note/largest string (1) to the highest note/smallest string (42).

String (1): length of the copper-wound section approximately 51.5 in; diameter approximately 6.0 mm

String (42): length of the copper-wound section approximately 42.5 in; diameter approximately 1.5 mm

The approximate diameter and length of strings 2-41 can be inferred from the size of the largest and smallest strings listed above. Photos for each string number show the actual string you will receive.

All strings have a short length of the core steel wire sticking out both ends. One end is cut where it attached to the tuning pin and the other end forms a loop where it attached to the bottom of the cast iron piano harp.

Strings will be shipped in a padded envelope via USPS Ground Advantage. Exercise extreme caution when opening the package and unwinding the coiled string. Coiled strings can suddenly "spring out." Gloves and safety glasses are highly recommended to avoid serious injury.
