This is an original press photo. Captain William S. Harris, USN, today became commanding officer of the New Orleans Naval Air Station and administrative head of air bases in the Eighth Naval Air Station and administrative head of air bases in the Eighth Naval District. He succeeds Captain James E. Leeper, who on January 24, was ordered to report as chief of staff to Carrier Division Six, which is to take over the Mediterranean patrol. Photo measures 8 x 10 inches. Photo is dated 02-17-1949.
