Behind the Design

After the Ministry of Magic had fallen to Death Eater control, this dramatic news story was the culmination of The Daily Prophet's campaign to discredit Harry Potter. Our design features the front page with the imposing headline 'Harry Potter Undesirable No.1' in the bold typographic style and impactful layout introduced to the newspaper after the return of Voldemort. Inspired by Constructivist propaganda, Eduardo ("Editor-in-Chief") redesigned The Daily Prophet in the later films to be vastly different from the earlier, more Victorian aesthetic, to signal the darker mood of the film series.
