This French noble ceramic is true vintage, still vibrant this nobleman is dressed as a court royal. Is possibly 19th C Jacob Petit Vieux Paris Porcelain, or similar type made in 1900's. (As JP many works were unsigned)
The piece is about 11.5" tall or 30 cms . There is a hole in the tree trunk he is standing, presumably meant to be a single stem flower holder. (Not for Perfumes as mistakenly labeled sometimes). This stunning piece has all the hallmarks of a Jacob Petit and is possibly older than 1900 and from the era of Jacob Petit (1796-1868).

The Nobleman seems to be in a Poetic mood and is about to say something, his robes are rich and drape lavishly around his slender figure, he has a period hat with a feather. His dress is reminiscent of 18th century royals and slim mustache of Men's grooming styles in Europe, Esp France. The Colors of the attire and robe are amazing, the features and expressions very lifelike - an amazing mantle piece !

For its age in very good condition, one barely noticeable crack on left foot, and some losses to the gold gilt.

Jacob Petit (1796-1868) was one of the more innovative and controversial figures in the history of French porcelain. Born Jacob Mardochee in Paris in 1796, he took his wife’s name when he married Anne Adelaide Petit. Jacob Petit (1796-1868) owned one of the most important and best-known porcelain factories in France and became one of the leading producers of Rococo jewelry in the 1830s. At the 1834 Paris Exhibition, Petit's work showed his genius for inventing countless and varied new shapes, which revolutionized the porcelain industry. Imitated throughout Europe, his name was given to a Rococo Revival style that reflected the many different influences on Petit's designs.
