as5048a is a 14-bit position sensor (previously called encoder) for absolute angle measurement and PWM (= Pulse Width Modulation) full rotation output at 360° based on non-contact magnetic sensor technology. The device is suitable for shaft applications with a simple two-pole magnet turning the sensor IC above or below and the zero position can be programmed into the device with simple SPI commands. The absolute magnetic angular position resolution is 14 bits = 16384 position measurement, serial interface (SPI) with digital value per revolution.
AS5048 provides PWM output and SPI or I2C interface to provide absolute angle measurement for the microcontroller.
