They also have give to them unlike the metal hooks. Your grip does not get tired as quickly as with metal hooks.

I have to be honest though....I do not like using them with cotton yarn. They seem to drag with cotton yarn. I enjoy using them with wool, acrylic and rayon or blends of these yarns.
