Mil Mi-1 became the first serial helicopter in the USSR. The helicopter made its first lift-off in September 1948, the serial production began in 1951. Mi-1 was the most wide-spread ambulance helicopter in the Soviet Union. This model kit presents ambulance version of Mi-1 with a suspended gondola for transportation of the wounded.
