From Ramen Sandwich Tees' line of apparel honoring the great samurai clans of the epic, turbulent period of Japanese history known as the Sengoku Jidai: a short-sleeved tee featuring the badge (mon) of the Mori Clan on the front and a soldier's back-flag (sashimono) on the back. A venerable clan, the Mori traced their origin back to the early 13th Century and held fiefs in western and southern Honshu. Under the cunning generalship of Mori Motonari, the clan defeated their local rivals the Amago and the Ouchi and they controlled much of the western half of Japan’s main island by Motonari’s death in 1571. A famous story of the day has him explaining family unity to his sons by showing how three arrows snap easily by themselves, but they are much harder to break when held in a bunch.
