Precise
airflow control
The intake and
exhaust valves can precisely control the in and out of air and exhaust gas. The
intake valve opens at the right time to allow fresh air to enter the cylinder
at a suitable flow rate, providing sufficient oxygen for combustion; the
exhaust valve opens in time after combustion to discharge the exhaust gas
efficiently. For example, in a four-stroke engine, they work in a precise time
sequence to ensure the normal operation of the engine's four strokes: intake,
compression, power and exhaust.
High
temperature resistance and wear resistance
Since the valves
have to withstand the scouring of high-temperature exhaust gas and frequent
opening and closing movements, they have the characteristics of high
temperature resistance and wear resistance. Special alloy materials, such as
chromium-nickel alloys, are usually used. These materials can withstand the
high temperatures generated when the engine is working, and can still maintain
a good surface condition under repeated opening and closing movements, reduce
wear and extend service life.
Good
sealing
The intake and
exhaust valves need to fit tightly with the valve seats to ensure good sealing.
If the sealing is not good, it will lead to insufficient intake and incomplete
exhaust, affecting the power and efficiency of the engine. The sealing surface
of the valve usually undergoes fine grinding and other processing techniques to
effectively prevent gas leakage when the valve is closed, ensuring normal power
output of the engine.
