An interesting Scrapbook dating from the 1960's relating to the Animal Health Trust / Equine Research Station then at Balaton Lodge Newmarket with much of the content relating to a visit by HM The Queen in 1961.

The content starts with a pasted in 30 page publication ' A Review of its Work 1947 to 1966 ' by WM C Miller and I think from other photos and clippings it might have been Mr Miller ( a Veterinarian ) or one of his relatives who compiled the Scrapbook.

There are then 3 pages of Press Clippings covering the visit of HM Queen Elizabeth II to Balaton and then 6 pages of Press Photographs also covering the visit.

There are then 5 pages of Press Photographs showing general work at the AHT including a Horse in sling and being X-Rayed etc and then 7 privately taken or candid photos featuring the Royal visit.

The scrapbook then ends with some older and circa 1930's clippings and some further Press Photographs.

Balaton Lodge in Newmarket is now a private residence and in later years the AHT moved to Lanwades in Newmarket before sadly ceasing operations in 2020.

Plenty of interesting content for anyone with an interest in Equine treatment etc or the local history of Newmarket itself.

One of the photographs on the centre pages has a small area of damage but overall apart from some odd signs of normal use and age the scrapbook is in very good condition.
